Overview and included items

Maverick R Billet Front Suspension Kit | AVID Racing

We built our Can-Am Maverick R Billet Aluminum Front Suspension Kit for hard use and the maintenance that comes with it. It takes the geometry and design of our chromoly Baja front suspension system and pairs it with one-piece 7075-T6 billet control arms, five-axis machining, and replaceable stainless steel service points throughout. The complete upper arm, lower arm, and billet upright kits are included, along with all hardware and bearings.

Our Baja design changes how the front suspension works through the entire cycle. King pin inclination, caster, scrub radius, camber gain, Ackermann, and bump steer are addressed together, with the geometry designed around a zero-offset wheel and 35-inch tire. The goal is a front end that tracks predictably at speed, responds directly to steering input, and keeps the tires working through corners and suspension travel.

Each control arm is machined from a single piece of 7075-T6 billet aluminum on a five-axis machine. Every pivot uses a replaceable 17-4 stainless steel bolt-in cup, and every bolt-through location uses a replaceable 17-4 stainless steel press insert. When those service components wear, they can be replaced individually. We built that maintenance path into the arm from the beginning.

The included 7075-T6 billet uprights use vertical 1-inch uniballs in true double shear, with 7/8-inch uniballs or rod ends at the chassis and tie rod pivots. The arms, uprights, and pivot arrangement carry over the design of our Baja system in a complete billet package.

Swap an axle without removing the control arm or shock. We designed the lower control arm with an opening large enough for the axle and CV joint to pass through. Removing the lower knuckle bolt gives you access to pull the axle out from behind the knuckle and through the arm. That means less suspension disassembly when it is time for an axle swap, with the arm and shock staying installed.
