Maverick R "RACE" Front Kit

Description

Introducing the AVID Maverick R "RACE" Front Suspension System

The next game changer has arrived. AVID has always been known for pushing the limits, but this time we’ve taken it to an entirely new level. After 18 months of design, testing, and refinement, we’ve built the ultimate complete package. Engineered to handle anything you can throw at it.

We originally explored modifying the factory upright, but after countless wasted hours it became clear, it simply can’t be done. The OEM design relies on outdated, failure-prone technology carried over from the Can-Am X3. On a machine capable of outrunning trophy trucks, that just won’t cut it. The stock geometry might look good in photos for the marketing department, but it is far from race-bred.

Factory setup gives you 0° KPI, 0 scrub radius, and virtually no camber change. Sure, that makes for light steering and a straight shot through the whoops, but what about the rest of the course? Minimal camber means inconsistent correction at high speed. No scrub and no camber gain means tires roll over in corners, reducing traction and costing you control. It’s a compromise we refuse to accept.

What We Changed and Why

  • KPI (King Pin Inclination): Corrected to 10° (vs. factory 0°). This sharpens steering response, improves tire contact, and gives controlled camber gain through the suspension cycle.
  • Scrub Radius: Increased to a positive 1". This delivers proper pressure angle into the tire contact patch, maximizing grip in turns. Geometry is set for a 0 offset wheel with 35" tires.
  • Caster: Set at 7° (vs. factory 2.5°). More caster = greater straight-line stability, natural self-centering, and predictability in high-speed terrain and landings.
  • Camber Gain: Engineered for 0.5° from full droop to ride height, progressing to 3.5° at full bump. This provides stability in G-outs, keeps the chassis planted in corners, and increases front-end grip.
  • Ackermann & Bump Steer: Precisely controlled, with less than 1/4" bump steer even on 35" tires—ensuring consistent toe and precise handling.
  • Massive Uprights: CNC-machined from 7075-T6 billet, featuring vertical 1" uniballs in true double shear for ultimate strength and reliability.
  • Chassis & Tie Rod Pivots: All pivots upgraded to 7/8" uniballs or rod ends, eliminating weak points under race loads.
  • Construction: Chromoly TIG-welded arms paired with 7075-T6 billet components for maximum durability.
  • Hardware: Complete with our proprietary titanium hardware kit—lightweight, corrosion resistant, and race-proven.

Included in Kit

  • Complete upper and lower control arms
  • All uniballs and rod ends
  • All misalignments
  • Complete Titanium Replacement Hardware Kit

Optional Add-On

  • Tie Rods: This kit requires a tie rod slightly shorter than factory (approx. 3/8"). Most aftermarket kits will work. Customers must confirm they have sufficient adjustment in their tie rods to accommodate this change.

Bottom line: This isn’t just another arm kit—it’s a complete geometry correction, engineered from scratch for racing performance. If you want the strongest, most precise Maverick R front end on the market, this is it.
