The AVID Racing Maverick R Rear Race Trailing Arm and Dual Shock Conversion Kit is built to pair perfectly with our front race control arm kit and turn the Maverick R into a true race platform front to rear. This system replaces the factory rear suspension with a race style trailing arm layout and converts the car to a dual shock rear setup that can handle real desert and short course abuse.
The kit is designed around a new rear shock tower that ties into the factory pivot locations. Welding is required, but it is kept as minimal and straightforward as possible, with clear locating points and bracing built in. Once installed, the tower accepts a 16 inch 5 tube bypass shock and a 14 inch 2.0 coilover, giving you a proper race style main and bypass combination with the travel and control to match the AVID front system.
Race style trailing arms are engineered for strength, clearance, and correct motion ratios. The geometry is tuned to work with the dual shock layout so the rear of the car can stay planted in the chop, take big hits, and still keep traction on corner exit.
